The 2012 ride was their most successful yet—raising more than $37,000 for our emergency food programs—and they are hoping to surpass that this year!

You'll enjoy great support, including mechanical support from Old Town Bicycle, SAG wagons and motorcycles, great food along the course, and a finish-line festival with live music and a beer/wine/root-beer-float garden and plenty to eat. All that, and you'll be helping provide food for thousands of Pierce County households.

The Spokie Cycling Club is a fast recreational bicycle club with weekly rides every Saturday. (The average speed for an entire ride is about 18mph going about 20-25mph on flat roads.) Meet the Spokies at Forza Coffee Shop in University Place at South 27th Street and Bridgeport Way in Tacoma every Saturday morning rain or shine.

(If you are interested in more moderate pace rides, or are just getting started riding, you may want to check out the Tacoma Wheelmen's Bicycle Club at www.twbc.org. They have many organized rides at all different speeds and distances.)

In the Spring and Summer Spokie rides leave at 8:00am and in the Fall and Winter rides leave at 9:00am. The Saturday rides are between 50-70 miles with no lunch break. The Spokies also do some special rides as a group such as local event rides, unsupported centuries and rides at Mt. Rainier or Hurricane Ridge. The route for the regular Saturday morning rides is decided at Forza on the morning of the ride. If this kind of riding sounds appealing to you, come join the Spokies on a Saturday morning.
